Hope and Healing

Picture2

We just got back from our family vacation. It was really nice to relax and spend time together. I had very limited internet access while I was away, which made it even more relaxing because I was able to do “nothing” and rest!

When I was able to read the comments on the last post, I thought of a few things. First, I was reminded that there are many wives who are deeply hurting. Like I do many times, they feel alone and scared. They have no idea what to do. Then, I thought of the main reason I started this site. It is and always will be:

Hope and Healing for Hurting Wives

I can see how God is making this site into a community where wives can be there for each other. We can pray for each other, encourage each other, share our stories, and just be there. It is such a blessing to read other stories and encouraging advice. It can be so hard to share our journey and reach out for someone’s help. This is such a difficult community to be apart of. But, we are all in a place where we can see God’s work.

God works by restoring our marriages. He works by building our faith. He brings us closer to Him. He brings our husbands’ hearts to Christ. God brings us hope and healing.

I’m pretty sure we didn’t plan to be on this journey. I know that I certainly did not. And, we don’t know where this journey will take us exactly. We will have many moments of sorrow. But, God will bring us the joy and the blessing. We have to trust in Him.

Please read Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV):

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

God has brought us together in a place where we can pray together and see God’s beauty come from ashes. We don’t know the exact timing, of course. But, how ever long it takes, we will be here together. We will be waiting on God and fighting for our faith. Thank you to all of you who are faithfully praying and being part of this community. I am praying for you every day.

Dear God,

We thank You for your blessings to us. We know that times can be very hard. We also know and have faith that You, God, hear our sorrow. We will have faith in You that You will turn these ashes to beauty and give us the oil for joy that You have promised in Your Word. Thank You, God, for this place where we can pray for each other and be here for each other. Please bless each marriage today. Guide us and show us how to follow You. Show us what to do when we are not sure. Hold us close when there is pain. And give us the hope of Your love and restoration. We thank You, Lord.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
